Installation of Public Art in Ellsworth, Maine

2007 International Schoodic Sculpture Symposium

In 2007, Ellsworth Arts made possible the placement of a public sculpture in Ellsworth. The granite sculpture is located on State Street in Downtown Ellsworth a short distance from the Ellsworth Public Library on the historic Peter's Block.

I Want to Ride the Cloud

Ellsworth Arts provided educational slideshows and photographic displays showing every aspect of the sculpture’s production from selection of the stone through placement on site. Events were held introducing local and international sculptors to the community, featuring Maine’s important granite resources and the artistic process of the sculpture’s formation from the granite yard to final installation.
